The CDC team is a key Information Technology pillar within the Equiti Group and its primary objective is to ensure the overall effectiveness of Cybersecurity across the Equiti Group.

We see Equiti as a new breed of broker, and we are on the lookout for talented individuals who can perform and excel in a dynamic and innovative working environment. Our Cyber Defence Center would like to welcome a dynamic Senior Cyber Defence Analyst in our office in Nairobi, Kenya.

The CDC team is a key Information Technology pillar within the Equiti Group and its primary objective is to ensure the overall effectiveness of Cybersecurity across the Equiti Group.

Responsibilities

  • Security Operations: Monitor, triage, escalate and investigate security events occurring within the Equiti technology infrastructure from a wide variety of sources including SIEM and EDR solutions.
  • Security Engineering: Actively engage with projects to improve the wider security posture of the organization and its infrastructure, such as the configuration and deployment of new technologies. Identify technical and process-related improvements and participate in their implementation.
  • Threat Intelligence: Monitor both commercial and open-source threat intelligence solutions to identify risks to Equiti. Raise these risks via the relevant processes and identify countermeasures that will reduce Equiti’s overall risk profile.
  • Vulnerability Management: Monitor our vulnerability management solution and coordinate with key stakeholders to identify and remediate vulnerabilities across the Equiti technology estate. Keep updated with 0-day vulnerabilities and work with the relevant teams to implement emergency patching.
  • Documentation & Reporting; Create documentation and processes that improve efficiency within the CDC team. Contribute to internal knowledge bases and provide detailed information when handling security incidents. Assist with the creation of visual dashboards that reflect key CDC KPIs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Make suggestions, identify improvements, and collaboratively engage with the wider team to implement changes that will improve the effectiveness of the CDC.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continual personal development with training and certifications to ensure that your knowledge is continually adapting to changing industry trends.

Skills & Competencies

  • Security Certifications: GIAC, OSCP, CCSK, Azure, AWS, ISC2, CompTIA, ISACA, EC-Council
  • Advanced SIEM analysis and Incident Response
  • Solid knowledge of Cloud Security, Monitoring, Automated Incident Response, offensive security
  • Solid knowledge of network/endpoint forensics, malware analysis, reverse engineering a bonus
  • Experience with a scripting language such as Python, PowerShell, and API programming is a plus
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Passion for Information Security

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience or technical certifications
  • Relevant experience in a security operations center environment is a must
  • Experience with SIEM, EDR, and Vulnerability Management products
  • Experience with Linux, Windows, iOS, and Network Operating Systems
  • Experience with Endpoint and Network Detection Response technologies
  • Financial services technology background is desirable
